Saved into the cloud, these customized settings can be applied to any smart office that the user visits.

These autonomous machines will allow employees to access the data required to perform their tasks more efficiently. These gadgets can assist employees in making critical decisions or when communicating with other employees. Applications of this type of technology can run the gamut from interviewing potential job candidates to conducting boardroom meetings.

Wearables

Although wearables are commonly promoted as fitness trackers, the technology can also be applied to HR systems. For instance, Oracle’s UX Lab is looking into the possibility of developing a wearable device that can be used as a workforce tracker. An employee wears a smartwatch or a similar wearable that activates whenever the employee is in the designated area. The wearable will then send the information to the HCM Cloud and start tracking. An employee’s work hours can be determined by establishing when an employee has entered and left that specific location.

Internet of Things

In addition to creating more customized workspaces for employees, the Internet of Things can also be used by human resources to streamline their efforts. The technology can be used to keep track of employees’ work times and patterns. As these elements are now automated, HR staff members are free to shift their attention to other tasks such as finding ways to improve productivity in the office and aligning the workers’ goals with that of the company’s.
